Spring Appeal

The Family Center was recently honored with the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce's first ever Pointer of Distinction - Excellence in Nonprofit Activity Award. The Chamber recognized our ability to "listen and respond" as we "develop and deliver" compelling new programs.

We thank you, our generous supporters, as the work we do could not be accomplished without your philanthropic investment.

Our most recent programs drew large audiences for "Drugs and Alcohol: What Parents and Professionals Need to Know;" "Taking Care While Giving Care;" "Pick Two for Your Healthy Future;" and annual "LEGO® Artists Challenge." Play Central draws a large audience every week at Barnes school where our youngest community members and their caregivers can enjoy indoor playtime and socialization with other families.

Still to come in April - June 2015:

"Alzheimer's: Know the Ten Signs;" "Lewy Body Dementia;" "Attention Disorders and Sleep Disorders" - April 28

"Kindergarten Essentials: Ensuring a Successful Transition for Your Child" - April 28

"ChariTea Tea Party" - helping young children develop important social skills while learning about the importance of giving back - May 3

"Meet & Greet for Professionals" - June 3

The Family Center has grown into a global force on the web. Familycenterweb.org is on track to deliver more than one million page views of its Ask the Experts articles, videos and program content this year.

We mail informative newsletters to 5,000 local families and professionals. Our weekly "Ask the Experts" column appears in the Grosse Pointe News. Over 100,000 fliers are distributed annually. Pointe Magazine promotes our programs with articles and calendar postings.

The Grosse Pointe War Memorial's WMTV broadcasts our presentations to Comcast, AT&T and WOW subscribers in the Grosse Pointes and Harper Woods.

Your financial investment allows us to achieve these significant accomplishments. Gifts of support help to ensure our mission of serving our community through programs and resources vital to today's families.
