Understanding Loss, Grief and the Healing Process for Families

"The Grieving Process and Stages of Grief" with Mary Beth Garvey, LMSW, Family Therapist in Private Practice
All families are touched by grief - whether it's a family illness or death, the loss of a beloved pet, coping with a new reality, or a tragedy within our community. We will explore the process of grief and how to help ourselves and our loved ones grieve in a healthy way, find hope and begin to heal.

"The Emotional and Spiritual Components of Recovery" with Rev. Peter J.M. Henry, Pastor, Grosse Pointe Memorial Church
Grief is not new to life. From those who have grieved before us come spiritual and communal resources. We will learn more about those resources and the role of spirituality, both personal and communal, in our grieving.

"Overcoming Grief" with Mary Petersen, LMSW, ACSW, Psychotherapist in Private Practice
Understanding the dynamics of grief and loss helps foster resilience within our families and community. We will address the different and complex ways people grieve and how to facilitate a resolution to grief.
