Tool or Toy: Educating Middle Level Learners on the Power of Cell Phones

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

More than 60% of middle level learners or tweens in the United States have a cell phone and that number rises to 91% with teenagers.

Cell phones, Smart phones, iPads, Laptops, Chromebooks, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and now PokemonGo... are here and they're part of a tweenagers life.

As a parent it can be overwhelming keeping up with the current gaming and social media trends of children. Furthermore, keeping pace with the productivity and versatility of today's technology devices makes being an informed parent a daunting task.

You are not alone. Educating tweenagers on the power of the product they wield is a mission both parents and schools have together.

Join Rodger W. Hunwick, Principal of Brownell Middle School, to discuss facilitating knowledge and understanding to your tweenager in an effort to empower them to be safe, respectful and responsible "Digital" Citizens.
